News emanating from Ondo State concerning the forthcoming gubernatorial election have it the time-span for the conduction of primary elections by political parties has elapsed thereby jeopardising the chances of a re-run primary election within the ranks of the All Progressives Congress.
This news was announced by the Resident Elect0ral Commissioner of the Independent National Elect0ral Commission, INEC in Ondo State – Mr Agbaje through Orange 94.5 FM Akure, the state’s capital.
Mr. Agbaje emphatically ruled out the possibilities of conducting any fresh election for any political party. It would be recalled that the free and fair emergence of a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Rotimi Akeredolu had been strongly contested by 3 gubernatorial aspirants namely Dr. Olusegun AB.raham, Chief Olusola Oke, and Senator Ajayi Boroffice at the election tribunal set up by the party leadership.
The REC in his statement revealed that holding of primary elections ended since Monday, 19th of September, 2016.
He stated that the election is a scheduled arrangement and that the APC is expected to have submitted the name of Mr Akereeolu, the winner for the purpose of orderliness.
As it stands to INEC, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu is the party candidate pending the official submittion of his name, since they monitor the said primary.
Akeredolu has thereby called on aggrieved party members to join hands with him to pursue the ultimate goal of winning the November 28 election and transforming Ondo State.
